Elan expands the width offerings of the Ripstick series this season, debuting the Elan Ripstick 108 Skis for a bit more float and a more serious big mountain demeanor. The construction starts much as the proven Ripstick 106 with a TubeLite Woodcore reinforced with Carbon Rods, but they've added Flax Fiber to make the ski damper without saddling it with more weight. The result is remarkably powerful but still playful freeride excellence that should be better suited to deeper days and bigger descents.
Designed with epic days in mind, Ripstick 108 proves that achieving superior floatation doesn't have to come at the expense of confident edge grip and stability. Elan's patented Amphibio Profile combines powerful rebound and edge hold with effortless float and maneuverability while game-changing Carbon Deck Technology with carbon rods and unidirectional carbon bands strategically placed along the edges form a solid platform that delivers superior response. An additional layer of natural vibration damping Flax Fiber is placed in an all-new 3D shape to level the terrain ahead. Whether you're looking for a freeride powder ski that holds on hardpack, or a backcountry rig disguised as a resort ripper, this is the perfect tool for skiers that seek the elusive blend of light-weight power and crave top-notch float and trustworthy grip to charge in big mountains and deep snow.
